12 In A Box

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Moniton Pictures presents the UK Premiere of Masses Entertainment’s multi award-winning low-budget feature film ’12 In A Box’ at Glasgow Film Theatre (Cinema 1), 5:30pm on 23rd March 2010. Tickets are £4 each and available from GMAC, 5th Floor, 103 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5HD.
The UK comedy feature has won worldwide acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Winner of three prestigious international awards, the film has been picked up by distributors in the United States, Australia and Europe. With its recent cinema release in the States, the Hollywood Reporter described it as having “ … enough plot twists and turns to keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat until the film’s final moments”; while the Los Angeles Times gave it four stars and thought it “ … a nicely calibrated romp peppered with more than a few genuinely funny moments. It’s jolly good fun”.
The film itself is a classic British comedy set in a remote country mansion: At a school reunion, a dozen people are offered the chance to collect a million pounds each as long as they all remain on the estate, cut-off from the outside world, for 96 hours. As events begin to conspire against them, can they stay united, or will they turn on each other and lose the cash?

Following the screening both Bruce and John will be hosting a detailed Q&A with the audience. Afterwards there will be a networking event held at Walkabout, 128 Renfield Street G2 3AL. The networking event will start at 8pm with tickets for the screening, also valid for entry to the networking event - a great opportunity to mingle and have a chat/drink with Bruce & John as well as fellow members of the Scottish film community.
Event Organiser Andy Cassels from Moniton Pictures says “the main aim of the event is for independent British film-makers to see what can be achieved in British film with such a low-budget. This film shows just what can be achieved if you have a strong, engaging script and good production value. Hopefully the audience can gain a good insight into how this was accomplished during the Q&A as well as tapping into the experience which both Bruce & John have gained with how to promote and sell their film. Above all, I just hope everyone has a great time and enjoys the film and learns something from the event.”
