Helen Anderson, director of BAFTA Scotland today announced the nominations for the BAFTA Scotland Awards 2009, which celebrate the best in Scottish TV, Film and Multimedia.
The film, ‘In The Loop’ received nominations for star Peter Capaldi (Acting in Film) and Armando Ianucci (Director) and Writer (Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Armando Ianucci).
Congratulations to ‘New Town Killers’, ‘Kurdi’ and ‘Crying With Laughter’ for their Feature Film nominations, all three projects were supported by Glasgow Film Office.
TV sees one of the most competitive categories - David Tennant received a nomination Acting in TV Male for Dr Who, Robert Carlyle (The Unloved) and Bill Paterson (Spanish Flu – The Forgotten Fallen). Acting in TV Female sees Holby City star Stella Gonet, Daniela Nardini (New Town) and Lindsay Duncan (Margaret).
BAFTA Scotland Awards will again be web-cast, the full awards will be streamed live on the internet, giving people outside of Scotland and indeed the UK the opportunity to enjoy the night.

The sheer volume of films, TV and games produced in Scotland this year is staggering – a real testament to Scotland’s burgeoning industry.
