The Legend of Barney Thomson

The Legend of Barney Thomson marks the directorial debut of Robert Carlyle.  In the film,  Carlyle plays the title character, a downtrodden Glaswegian barber who inadvertently stumbles into serial murder, with both absurd and macabre consequences.  The film also stars Ray Winstone and Emma Thompson.  The Legend of Barney Thomson was produced by John G. Lenic (Stargate series, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn) and Kaleena Kiff (Marilyn, No Men Beyond This Point) through their Trinity Works Entertainment company, and Brian Coffey of Sigma Films (Starred Up, Citadel).  Holly Brydson and Rich Cowan are also producers on the film, with Myriad's D'Amico (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Margin Call, Kinsey) serving as executive producer, PNP's Emily Alden (October Gale, Mountain Men, All the Wrong Reasons) serving as co‐executive producer, and Doug Apatow also serving as executive producer.

The Legend of Barney Thomson shot in Glasgow in early summer 2014 and was the opening film of the 2015 Edinburgh International Film Festival.
